Over the past 20 years, I’ve grown and developed organisations in the public and private sector. Managing budgets of £20m+, taking companies from six figures to multi-seven figures, opened numerous locations, grown the staff team from 30 to over 120 people and implemented award winning learning and development programmes.
What sets me apart from other HR consultants is my understanding of how to grow and scale a business, because I have been there and done it. I understand the issues you face and the pressure you feel.

I've seen and experienced it all, from business owners who become so focused on profit they loose sight of everything else and the workplace becomes hostile and toxic. To the other extreme, where managers and leaders let staff do what they want and don't set any boundaries and expectations.

I’ve taken my experiences, together with the knowledge gained from achieving a CIPD Level 7 and a Masters in HR/Management, to create the HR Hero.
​
My passion is working with business owners with 1 to 100 staff and HR managers in a standalone role. To enable you to set standards and expectations with your people, establish healthy boundaries and minimise problems in the team, whilst achieving business growth and profitability.

Working with me is truly transformative, and will feel like you have your own HR partner in the business, giving you the time and confidence to be a true leader in your organisation.
The HR Hero wins Innovative Business of the Year Award
We recently won the 'Innovative Business of the Year Award 2023' at the Real World Consultancy annual business festival awards, after being shortlisted for all three award categories.

With strict criteria, three judges decided the four finalists for each award. The judges were particularly impressed with the HR Hero's innovative online offering to support SME's across the UK.
Here's what the judges said, "Kate from The HR Hero has developed her own method and innovative online offering to support the employment lifecycle. She has created a low-cost, affordable solution to disrupt the way HR services are delivered to SMEs across the UK. SMEs now have 24/7 access to an ‘HR manager in their pocket’ via an APP.”

About me
A little bit about me and the things I love...it's all about the family! Rich and I have been married for over 20 years, which sounds a long time, but it really has flown. We've got two teenagers and a cockerpoo called Barney, who rules the roost! I also love sport and exercise and trying new things, which led me to run my first half marathon last year, on behalf of the charity, Tommy's.
